Principal's Report

Firstly I would like to thank everyone for their attendance at the Art Show! What an amazing event for our school community. A very big thank you to Christy Thompson, who went above and beyond with the evening. Thank you also to all those that supported the night - Del Rios Winery, Bunnings North Geelong, PFA, JSC, School Council, staff, students and families.

Good luck to Zoe Bowkett, who is representing Victoria in the School Sports Championships in Tasmania today. We can't wait to hear how she goes!

GO BLUE FOR DIABETES

Thank you for the support for the Go Blue for Diabetes Day. As a school we raised just over $150 to donate to diabetes research.

COLOUR RUN & CFA PRESENTATION

1:30pm - CFA Fire Information Session - this is for parents and members of the community. Anakie FSE FLYER - if you click on this flyer, it will provide you with all the information that you need about the fire information session - which is very prevalent coming into the warmer months. It would be great to have lots of parents and members of the community in attendance. The fire information session will be held in the middle space.

Instead of the usual icypoles, PFA have organised a slushie machine for the day. We will be handing these out to students at lunch eating time, if you have any concerns please don't hesitate to get in touch.

2:30pm - Assembly (Please note the earlier time)

3:00pm - Colour Run. This will be taking place straight after assembly. We ask that students wear a white t-shirt, and old shorts, shoes, and if they wish some sunglasses/headband. Also, don't forget to pack an old towel.

GRADUATION NIGHT & GRADE 6 GRADUATION

The PFA are seeking donations from families for our major raffle for the end of the year. We would appreciate new and or unused items that can be added to our hamper. The major raffle will be drawn at the celebration evening - invites went home yesterday, and you can also view this on the website.

GRADE 5/6 INDUSTRY VISIT

On Wednesday our Grade 5/6 had an industry visit to Cummins Laverton plant. Students learnt how they service diesel engines for trucks, marine, generators and trains, as well as sell parts and equipment. We even have a budding apprentice diesel mechanic in our midst! We are grateful to Ardoch at The Gordon and Cummins for the opportunity. The students did us proud with their enthusiasm, engagement and respect. Check out the pictures below. In a couple of weeks the students will also visit the Gordon Institute to explore some of the offerings.
