Principal's Report

We are now officially half way through the term, with just 5 weeks remaining. As things are starting to get cooler, we encourage students to wear school beanies and make sure they are coming to school with their jumpers. This Sunday we have our Bunnings BBQ taking place at Bunnings North Geelong. Thank you to each and every person that has popped their name down to support on the day. Also that you to the Amanda Denny and Sue Davenport who will be team captains and running the show on Sunday. Please see the roster below:

Go Grey In May

We will be holding this on Monday 27th May. One of our wonderful Grade 5 students, Eli, is working alongside the Junior School Council to help to raise funds for the Robert Connor Dawes Foundation. Eli is incredibly brave and is shaving his head to help raise money for the important cause of fighting childhood brain cancer.

Go Grey in May is a time to participate in fun, awareness-raising activities that raise much needed funds for childhood brain cancer.
Brain cancer is one of the most common childhood cancers with around 120 children and adolescents diagnosed in Australia each year. Every dollar raised gives hope for a cancer free future. By making a donation, you are funding RCD Foundation paediatric brain cancer projects in the areas of research, care and development.

We ask that students bring a gold coin donation on Monday, or if families choose to they can donate directly to the link above. I have heard a whisper that there might be an additional person getting their head shaved if we raise over $2000 - we are currently sitting at $1820 - what a super effort!

Grade 3 Camp

Our Grade 3 students had a wonderful time at Camp Angahook, Aireys Inlet. They enjoyed their first official camping experience with students from Shelford, Lethbridge and Meredith PS. A very big thank you to Mr King for caring for our students while on camp and taking the time away from his own family. Students enjoyed a range of activities, including a walk to the beach, an environmental program through Ecologic, giant swing, frisbee golf, mini golf, low ropes course, and archery. Check out the photos below!

Gymnastics

What a great first session our students had at gymnastics this week. There was plenty of excitement as everyone headed to YMCA North Geelong, to participate in a 1 hour gymnastics session. We will share lots of photos at the conclusion of the session, which run for another 3 weeks.

Curriculum Day

Just a reminder that we will be holding a Curriculum Day on Friday 7th June. There will be no school for students on this day, however those that require care - OSHC will be running for a fee. The following Monday is the King's Birthday Holiday, so the school will be closed for the day.

I also just wanted to give a heads up to families that at School Council on Monday night a discussion was held about getting a new fence for the school, with approval for this to go ahead. We will be seeking quotes and taking the next steps to make our school a safer space for students during the day.

Thank you and have a wonderful weekend.,
