Principal's Report

Dear Families,

I am so proud of the way that students have started of Term 3, there have been many changes and I thank all staff, students and families for the adaptability. From the beginning of this term, students have been learning about our Behaviour Norms. Each day a new norm has been introduced to students in their classroom, and students have been rehearsing these norms throughout the week. Our norms are the expected behaviours that we expect from both students and staff across the school, and set the foundations for consistent expectations, appropriate interactions and aiming for excellence. It is evident that students have taken on these new norms, particularly through their classroom participation and interactions with others. I have listed all the norms below so that it can open up communication with home.

On Wednesday this week we had 12 staff from other schools come to Anakie to observe our teaching approaches. Facilitated by Bron Ryrie-Jones, that staff spent time observing the learning programs in each classroom for a short period of time. The feedback about our school, staff and students was so positive, it really made both Mr King and I proud to work in such a wonderful school. All students were on task and attentive to the learning, engaging in the curriculum and responsive to the teaching. Well done to the whole school community for the way that they embraced the visitors - all students and staff should be extremely proud!

Finally, just a note to let families know that our new school fence is coming very soon - the company will start installation early September - we can't wait!

Parent / Teacher Interviews

Just a reminder that next week on Tuesday and Thursday we will be holding Parent /Teacher Interviews. This is a chance to discuss your child's progress throughout the first half of the year. Currently we have 45 bookings created, which is great to support the home/school partnership. Please reach out if you need any support with booking via Compass.

100 Days of School - Foundation

Last Friday our Foundation students celebrated 100 Day of School. The progress that they have made throughout the first half of the year is something that each and every student should be proud of. They have all made excellent learning gains in areas of the curriculum, and developed wonderful friendships amongst their peers and other members of the Anakie PS community. We can't wait to continue watching them develop throughout the rest of the year. Thank you to Miss Colebrook who planned an amazing day for the students. How amazing do they look in the picture below!
