Principal's Report

Welcome to this fortnight's Principal Report. A reminder that tomorrow is our Curriculum Day. All staff will be onsite working collaboratively on our behaviour curriculum, following on from my visit to Sydney. We will be exploring common behaviours and strategies to support students so that they can get their most out of their schooling. We have no bookings for our OSHC program, so the school will not be open until 8:30am. Monday is also King's Birthday Holiday, so the school will be closed for the day. We hope that families enjoy the extra long weekend, and we will see everyone back on Tuesday. We have also moved our assembly to Tuesday morning, straight after drop off. Some families are involved in SSG meetings on Tuesday, so there will be some staff missing from assembly while these are taking place in the early part of the day.

Bunnings BBQ - THANK YOU

A very big thank you to all families and staff who gave up their time for the Bunnings BBQ last Sunday. As mentioned at assembly. A special thank you to Amanda and Sue who were our team captains, ensuring that stock was ok, and volunteers knew their roles. It is such a great fundraiser for our school, this year we raised just over $2000. Thank you once again!

Holiday Program

An email was sent out this week from OSHC - bookings are now being taken for the second week of the July school holidays. The program runs from 8am - 5pm each day from Monday 8th July to Friday 12th July. Bookings are essential as there are limited spaces. Please email [email protected] if you would like to book your child/ren in.

Gymnastics

Students have been thoroughly enjoying the gymnastics program at YMCA. With so many activities to participate in, it has been so wonderful to see the joy on their faces when trying something new. We will share lots of photos in the next edition of the newsletter.

Student Awards

Congratulations to the following students who have received an award for demonstrating our values over the past fortnight:

FOUNDATION: Finn Mannisto - For always being an enthusiastic and responsible learner during writing. Finn uses his time efficiently and completes writing tasks set to the best of his ability. Keep up the great work Finn!

GRADE 1/2: Nate Stewart - Well done Nate for always showing a growth mindset towards your learning. You approach tasks and challenges with positivity, focus and courage. You also take learning risks such as having a go at new things, which demonstrates our school value of Aiming for Excellence. Keep up the great work Nate.

GRADE 3/4: Harley Rowe - For displaying the school values of Respect and Resilience at the Lightning Premiership. You were such a great sport, teammate, and representative of our school. Well done, Harley!

GRADE 5/6: Ava Capon - for showing all of the Anakie values. Ava, it is wonderful to see you increasingly volunteering in class discussions, especially in HaSS Knowledge. You have also worked hard in Maths which has resulted in strong improvement in your fluency fact knowledge. Finally, you volunteered to join the netball team to help your friends and played even after being injured. Keep it up!

ART: Oscar Ellery - For showing Resilience both in the Art room and in the playground. You are a quiet achiever, a kind student and a valued class member. Keep it up Oscar!

AUSLAN: Willow Grant - For Aiming For Excellence with your fingerspelling. You tried so hard to read the Auslan letters and showed Responsibility for your learning by using a chart for support. Amazing job!
